Sustainability of People, Planet & Profit

We believe that true success means having a positive impact on people, the planet, and profit. This means that while financial sustainability is important in our decisions, we also prioritise the well-being of our people and the planet.

Helpfulness

We will always try to be helpful, supportive and empathise with each other, both internally and externally with customers and partners, so that we can deliver the best possible solution.

Customer Intimate

We will build genuine relationships with both our external and internal customers. By getting to know them well, we’ll understand their challenges, motivations, and needs. Staying close ensures we solve real customer problems, not imagined ones.

Straightforwardness

We aim to provide everyone with the best information to make informed decisions, and we encourage open sharing of thoughts on any topic. We aim to  communicate constructively and with helpfulness in mind. We believe that transparency and honesty with stakeholders is the best policy in the long run.

SHARED VALUE

Triple Bottom Line

At VRAI, our vision is to create a sustainable creative technology company where we want to work, affect change and make an impact.

We create shared value for our customers, investors, employees and community by adopting the ‘Triple Bottom Line’. This means that we focus not just on profit, but also on people and the planet

What is Triple Bottom Line?

A Triple Bottom Line in Sustainability means measuring success in terms of social, environmental and financial results. We embed sustainability into all our decisions, from how we work and who we work with, to how we design and deliver our products, and set challenging goals for how we can make a positive impact. Our Triple Bottom Line reporting to our board includes metrics across our People, Planet and Profit pillars.

We help our customers reduce their carbon footprints by using VR training solutions to address common challenges. Delivering VR training at the point of need reduces the need for travel to training centers or off-site locations. Training in simulation also minimizes the use of real-life vehicles or equipment, which often have significant carbon emissions. We can calculate the emissions saved through VR training, allowing our customers to measure the impact against their sustainability goals.

Sustainability is embedded in the development of every product or collaboration, positioning us perfectly to meet the growing sustainability requirements of funders and investors.

We create value for our customers by helping them meet their own sustainability commitments through responsible business choices.

Our Triple Bottom Line approach

We’re committed to designing sustainable products. Our goals are to develop sustainable sourcing solutions for materials, from packaging to hardware; to measure the carbon footprint of our software and data processing; and to provide sustainable-use and end-of-life guides to our customers.

We are committed to helping our clients enhance the occupational health and safety of their workforces. A core function of our products is to allow people to learn and practice skills in a safe, realistic environment, better preparing them for real-world tasks. We measure the impact of our training on improving the knowledge and capabilities of users, helping our customers build safer, more prepared teams.

E-WEB-Goal-03-768x768.png

We believe that defense and security play a crucial role in addressing the challenges humanity faces. Our training empowers defense personnel to reduce conflict-related deaths and protect vulnerable populations.

We assess the commitment of all potential clients and collaborators to transparency, democratic governance, and human rights. Additionally, we measure the number of military personnel using our training who contribute to UN Peacekeeping operations.

E-WEB-Goal-16-768x768.png

We are committed to fostering a positive work culture that prioritises employee well-being and empowers meaningful work. All team members receive a living wage and educational allowances for training and professional development, along with paid parental leave and flexible working arrangements.

For our customers, we design products that help scale their workforces and address specific challenges, such as transitioning workers from fossil to renewable energy, measuring our success by the number of personnel trained.

We are committed to achieving a gender balanced team by 30 employees. Women are systematically not getting the same opportunities to work in this field. Ethically, it’s not right, and strategically, we need diversity across our team in order to succeed in a complex, emerging market. In 2019, we offered one of Ireland’s first-ever female-only tech apprenticeships and we now create gender-balanced short lists when hiring for any new position.

E-WEB-Goal-05-768x768.png

We are committed to measuring and reducing both our own carbon footprint and helping our clients to do the same. In 2022 we are measuring our baseline, focusing on our highest impact areas – electricity, products and travel. Once we establish a baseline we will set reduction targets and implement strategies to meet them. With our customers, we are measuring how much carbon emissions are prevented through training in virtual reality versus their traditional methods.

E-WEB-Goal-13-768x768.png

In 2022, we adopted a number of UN Sustainable Development Goals to help guide and measure our progress
