Purpose of role:
Our HEAT product enables our customers to capture, store, analyse and present data insights on trainee performance during simulation sessions. The HEAT platform is integrated with a variety of client simulations to enhance training outcomes.
This role at VRAI will lead the technical research and development of the HEAT product, and ensure its reliability for our customers.
Main Responsibilities:
You will be joining the Dev team being responsible for leading backend & front end development and maintenance of HEAT.
You should be able to:
● Lead a team towards a common technical goal
● Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget
● Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code
● Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments
● Identifying risks and technical challenges and forming contingency plans as soon as
possible
● Design both client and server-side architecture
● Build front-end applications that have been designed by our product experience team
● Develop and manage efficient and effective databases
● Write effective APIs for a range of client requirements
● Test development to achieve software correctness
● Troubleshoot, debug support and upgrade software deployments
● Create or adopt best in class security and data protection settings
● Write accessible, comprehensive technical documentation and user guides
● Work with data scientists and analysts to constantly improve software and services
Requirements/Qualifications to the role:
● Lead or senior dev experience
● 5+ years experience as a Microsoft Azure developer
● Able to work under pressure
● You are up to date with the latest software development practices
● Experience with API development in .NET
● Experience with CI/CD Pipelines like Github Actions, AzureDevOps, Jenkins, or others
● Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Arm/Bicep templates
● Experience using React front end development
● Good understanding of networking and security in both software development and
infrastructure
● Good understanding of Service Oriented Architecture including Microservices
● Experience with code versioning tools like github and different branching strategies
● Excellent communication and team working skills
● Degree in Computer Science or relevant field
Bonus Points:
● Experience developing distributed on-prem solutions
● Experience designing data intensive applications
● Experience with containers and container orchestration
● Experience in related industries such as gaming, simulation, esports, fitness etc
● Participated in high profile open source projects
